Monday Action #3
“Invite Your Lawmakers to Meet the Students Their Budget Just Cut”
Still one of my proudest dad moments — pointing my daughter to the top of those stairs. But stay tuned… she didn’t stay there.
Last Monday, we told the Governor why we’re thankful for our children’s schools.
Two Mondays ago, we emailed our House member and our Senator.
Today, we take the next step.
It’s time to invite them to meet the students and families who were directly affected by the 25% cyber charter funding cut — face-to-face, in the Capitol Rotunda.
Because budgets become real the moment lawmakers have to look a child in the eyes.
1️⃣ Here’s this week’s action:
👉 Invite your Representative, your Senator, AND the Governor to attend National School Choice Week in Harrisburg.
This is not a protest.
This is an invitation for them to listen.
Event Details:
📅 Tuesday, January 27, 2026
⏰ 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
📍 Harrisburg Capitol Rotunda
Families, students, teachers, principals, legislators, and advocates will all be there.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ATTEND — but if you can, I’ll meet you there.
If you can’t, I will carry your story with me.

Subject: Invitation to Meet Cyber Charter Families — Jan 27
Dear [Representative/Senator/Governor],
I am writing as a parent in your district to invite you to attend the National School Choice Week event in the Capitol Rotunda on January 27, 2026 from 10–11 AM.
With the recent 25% funding cut to public cyber charter schools, many families in our community were directly affected. I believe it is important for lawmakers to hear from the students, families, and educators who rely on these public school options.
I hope you will consider attending, meeting these students, and listening to their stories. These are real children whose education was impacted, and your presence would mean a great deal to the families you represent.
Even if I am unable to attend myself, I want my family’s voice included in that room.
Thank you for your time,
[Your Name]
[Your Town/City]
[Your child’s school — optional]
3️⃣ Public Post Line for Social Media
“I invited my Rep, Senator, and the Governor to meet the kids their budget just cut on Jan 27. Your turn.”
Parents see that.
Lawmakers see that.
It spreads quickly.

🍎 Closing Message
You don’t need to attend.
You don’t need to stand in a rotunda or speak at a podium.
If you can go, great — I’ll be there.
If you can’t, I will carry your story, your voice, your child’s experience in my pocket that day, and so will many other parents.
The cut was real.
The harm is real.
But so are we.
This Monday, we send invitations.
Next Monday, we move the needle again.
