Monday Action #2 — November 24, 2025
“Tell the Governor Why You’re Thankful for Your Child’s School”
Last Monday, we reached out to our House and Senate members.
This Monday, as Thanksgiving week begins, we’re going one level higher.
Today’s message is simple, human, and impossible for any leader to dismiss:
👉 Tell the Governor why you’re thankful for your child’s school and the people who make it work.
Not politics.
Not funding formulas.
Not arguments.
Just gratitude — pointed in the right direction.
Because if he is going to shape the next budget (less than 90 days from now), he needs to hear directly from the families who live with the consequences of every decision.
And he needs to hear it before the hearings, before the talking points, before the lobbyists get their turn.
1️⃣ Email the Governor
Here’s a message you can copy/paste or personalize.

Subject: A Thanksgiving Note From a Pennsylvania Parent
Message:
Dear Governor Shapiro,
As we head into Thanksgiving week, I wanted to take a moment to share something simple:
I’m thankful for my child’s school, and for the teachers and staff who support them every day. There has been a lot of debate about public education this year, and there will be more in the next budget. Before those conversations begin, I wanted you to know that my family is grateful for the school that works for our child — whether it’s district, charter, or cyber charter.
Please remember families like mine when you shape the next budget. Funding choices matter. Stability matters. And the school that supports my child deserves to be protected, not weakened.
Thank you for your time, and for listening.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
[Your Town/City]
[Your child’s school — optional]
It’s short, respectful, and not something any leader wants to ignore this week.
2️⃣ Post this line publicly
“I emailed the Governor today and told him why I’m thankful for my child’s school. Your turn.” and tag his account
Short. Human. Contagious.
3️⃣ Tell 3 other parents to do it too
One email is a message.
One hundred emails are pressure.
One thousand emails are movement.
The Governor needs to see parents as the first stakeholders in public education — not the last.
4️⃣ Sign up so you get next Monday’s action automatically
Next week, we pivot back to the legislature with a stronger message — and we will need momentum.
👉
🍎 A final reminder:
Being thankful doesn’t mean being quiet.
It means recognizing what works — and protecting it.
This Monday, we show gratitude.
Next Monday, we get louder.
